Mental health

Dogs are sentient, and social beings, They need companionship. They need/want to be interactive. Depriving dogs of social activities and/or crating them for hours on end will increase the likelihood of their having behavioral issues.

They are sentient beings and I can't stress that enough. Please don't hit them. Use positive methods in communicating with them.

Participate in dog play dates and socializing with Doodle groups helps with canine socialization and exercise. Plus, its a great way to meet other people who are in love with doodles!

New experiences keep a flexible mind

New positive experiences can help strengthen the bond between a dog and the human companion.  Make the time you spend with your dog fun and s/he will think you are fun. Fun people are fun to be around right?

Training can be very stimulating and engaging for the dog. New challenges keeps a mind flexible.

"Find it" games are a lot of fun. We play "go to" or "find daddy or momma" in the yard. One of us hides with treats and the other tells the dogs to go find the other person who uses a "recall" whistle.  So the dog has fun looking for the person, has his recall whistle reinforced with fun and a treat. We do this until we run out of treats. LOL.
